Short and Sweet
Twilight is coming up. I, for one, am very excited. I love being open all day long and having a beer garden to work at on top of it all. A change of scenery is always a nice thing. I like home football game days and Twilight is the closest thing we've got to a home game day right now, so I'll take it. Every year I've worked it, I've always had a great time watching the bike races, hanging out with friends and being downtown.
In other news, this is 2008, not 1985. A 15% tip isn't acceptable anymore. Recession or not, if you tip less than 20% on excellent service, then you're a cheap bastard. End of story.

i TOTALLY agree. if you are going to go out to eat/to a bar/whatever you should be able to shell out at least 20%.
prices on food have gone up since 1985, so its all relative and i'll continue to tip 20%.
20 percent is no problem at all as long as service comes with it. But this is Athens after all, and bad service dominates. Places like Mama's Boy and Mellow Mushroom are lucky I even pay the bill, let alone add on a percentage on top of that.
I've noticed in this town that folks tend to undertip at bars, overtip at restaurants where the service at the former is usually far better than the latter.

Sorry, but you need to work on your math. 15% or 20% it is all proportional. As prices have risen since 1985 so does the amount you tip as a percentage of the entire bill. If you are tired of receiving low tips then maybe you should work on the service you give to your patrons.....
P.S. Dont forget you work at a college bar in Athens, not some high end Buckhead bar.
Thanks for setting me straight, annonymous.
No problem man! I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew there place.
THEIR place. Please someone, bomb this town.
